TOUR # 1 New Orleans City Tour

 $45/person  

9:30 AM to 12:30 PM     OR     2:00 PM to 5:00 PM 

     Discover the Paris of America!  See the glamorous Antebellum years, when New Orleans was one of the richest cities in America.  We will visit the French Quarter, the Warehouse District, and the Garden District, where there is a showcase of magnificent houses and gardens like Anne Rice's Mansion.  Next comes St Charles Avenue, a verdant promenade where you will find the historical Loyola and Tulane universities and the marvelous Audubon Park.  After that, following the course of the magnificent Mississippi River, we will visit St. Louis Cemetery Number 3, the City of the Dead, City Park, Lake Pontchartrain, and then return to  town via Creole Esplanade Avenue.

TOUR # 2:  Longue Vue House & Gardens plus a City Tour

     Experience the opulence of New Orleans by doing both the City Tour and visiting Longue Vue House and Gardens.  Longue Vue House and Gardens is a Classical Revival Estate featuring  eight acres of gardens like the Walled Garden, the Canal Garden, the Wild Garden, etc. and a Palladian style house and outbuildings with a magnificent collection of American and English antiques.

 TOUR # 3:  Swamp Tour on a Relaxing Pontoon Boat ride or an Adventurous Airboat

     Cyprus trees surround this paradise.  As their moss will hang over your head reaching to touch the glistening surface of the water, your guide will share his knowledge of Cajun Life pointing out the various flora and fauna of the bayous.  You will enter a wild paradise filled with alligators, egrets, mink, nutria and snakes that dominate this marshland.  If you choose to take the adventurous airboat tour you will reach up to a speed of 30 knots!

TOUR # 4 EAST:  Full Day East Plantation Tour (Destrehan, San Francisco, and Houmas House,

Lunch at The Cabin)

     The East Plantation tour will amaze you.  Destrehan is the oldest documented plantation home in the lower Mississippi Valley.  You will be chaperoned around the house by a person dressed in historically accurate costume, and you will see demonstrations of candle making and dyeing indigo.  San Francisco Plantation was built in 1856 it incorporates five artistically hand painted ceilings, faux marbling, and faux wood graining throughout and antique furniture.  Houmas House will astound you with it's beautiful gardens.  In 1964, "Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte" was filmed in there, and "All My Children" in 1981.  You will enjoy lunch at The Cabin Restaurant, where lunch will be served in 100 year old slave cabins.  There is a selection of Po-Boys, world famous chicken, andouille gumbo, and specially prepared seafood.

TOUR # 4 WEST:  Full Day West Plantation Tour (Laura, St. Joseph, Oak Alley, Lunch at Oak Alley)

     The West Plantation tour will fascinate you, with their beauty and history.  Laura Plantation is surrounded by fields of sugarcane.  Laura includes the slave cabins where the West-African folktales of Compair Lapin or later known as Br'er Rabbit were written.  Joseph Plantation is the birthplace of H.H. Richardson, one of America's most important architects of the 19th century.  This plantation has interesting exhibits such as the token that were used by the freed slaves to purchase their needed goods.  Oak Alley Plantation will leave you in awe as you walk down a with oaks at either side.  You will enjoy a traditional Louisiana style  lunch at Oak Alley that will entertain your taste buds. 

 TOUR #5A:  Half day Southern Plantation Tour (San Francisco and Oak Alley)

TOUR #5B: City Tour and Oak Alley Plantation (Including Lunch)

TOUR #6A:   Pontoon Boat on the Bayou Swamp and Creole Plantation Tour

    Enjoy a relaxing and educational walk through the Garden District, which is one of New Orleans most desirable residential areas.  The Garden District was originally a suburb located on a sugar plantation.  The beautiful gardens originated from a flood that occurred in 1816.  This flood brought a new layer of heavy sediment filled with nutrients encouraging the foliage growth that later became the Garden District. 

     A licensed tour guide will show you elegant Greek revival and Italianate architecture buildings in the Garden district.  You will see one of Anne Rice's Homes, the author Interview with the Vampire.  You will then proceed to Lafayette Cemetery, where you learn about the above ground burial customs.
